My name is Candace, and I believe in
stillness, the outdoors, and creating space for what you love.
This website of mine is all about learning and traveling.
Ever since I was young, travel fascinated me. I was obsessed with all of the famous landmarks and read dozens of books that took place in real places. I spent my days between school and work dreaming and planning (- I actually still do!) about where I want to go, what I want to see, and how it would all unfold in my head.

I focused on photography. I’m an amateur at best, but this does not stop me from carrying my camera everywhere I go. At first, I just captured the moments with my friends or the little things I found interesting. My hard drive is filled with thousands of photos from the last 15 years.
When I got older, traveling to the beach, on that hike, going on a road trip was all driven by taking photos. I would look up a place and just want to go there. See this. Take a photo of that. I could not afford expensive gear, but I loved my photos anyway. They are the memories that will last. I just wanted to document everything and share it with other people.
Intro: The BLT Guidebook. Welcome, again!
This website is a collection that combines my love of writing with my love of photography! It includes articles, trip reports, writings, photographs under the scope of learning and traveling! With every trip, there is research, there is excitement, and there are cool spaces.
About Bacon:

New Oregon transplant from California. I spend my weekdays day dreaming about my weekends, and I spend my weekends building space for what I love. I’m a nature-enthusiast, writer, cat owner, coffee drinker, and leaf watcher.
About Learning:
You’ll find some how-to guides in here and I’ll share some trials and errors. Every new thing is a journey and there is always a learning curve to go with it. When I think about creating space, I think about the real life we live. You need to start somewhere.
About Traveling:
Traveling can be day trips to the beach or that weekend with your friends. It can be going into the city or the mountains for the first time or to re-charge. It’s finding the places that you love. You will notice the bulk of my traveling has outdoor components.
My hope for you is
that you spend some time here, that you find what drives you, and that you also create the space for what you love.

A note about photos:
All photos used are taken by me, unless otherwise stated. Some photos are tagged with @SierraMeadowsPhotography, which is also my branding.
